In the glass: COS Frappato
ViiniTV brings the Christmas spirit! What’s the best recipe for mulled wine? Well, it’s not this to be frank but enjoy the entertainment anyway.
It took us a month or so but now we’re finally recovered and able to talk about the EWBC 2011. Norwegian vintage beer, great people and tons of bubbly is, from now on, our definition of good times. And the dick? Well, that just doesn’t need an explanation. See you all next year!
Time to uncork FF’s first sherry. I think it’s unbelievable that from a neutral grape variety like palomino it is possible to produce such a wide variety of beautiful fortified wines. I do understand that it’s not the easiest style of wines but if you have patience to learn about sherry and taste what it has to offer you just might become a fan for life. This Amontillado from Delgado Zuleta is a good wine to kick off the weekend and our first Fortfied Friday Virtual Tasting. For more info, click here.
BRING ON THE SACK!
Today I’m tasting a wine from Setúbal, Portugal. José Maria da Fonseca (a.k.a. JMF) is one of the oldest wine companies in Portugal and very famous for their Moscatel de Setubal fortified wines. Often overshadowed by port it’s not the most well known fortified wine style in the world but more than worthy of mention. These wines usually offer great drinkability when young and when it’s time to wrestle with the big boys some of these wines show amazing longevity and complexity. Kippis!
Ps. ViiniTV is hosting the world’s first Fortified Friday Virtual Tasting taking place next week on the 11th of November LIVE from Helsinki, Finland! Click this to check out the Facebook event for more info.
